I can't think of a title so this is what you get.

Well, well, well. I'm still alive. Although by the amount of post on here and the time between them you wouldn't think so.

It's a new year and I've decided that I miss blogging. I just like going back and reading old post. I have to write post to be able to read them, though. Funny how that works.

So, here's a list of why I am going to start blogging again (you know I love lists!!).
  1. I use to want a million followers.
  2. Now I am blogging for myself and don't care if I'm the only follower.
  3. I use to crave those comments.
  4. Now I think I'll go back and comment on my old post and talk to my former self.
  5. I use to think that I am hilarious and everyone will want to read what I write.
  6. Now I think I'm hilarious and I want to read what I write to remember.
  7. I use to think each post had to be long, thoughtful, funny.....a piece of artwork.
  8. Now I may just post a one word post if I feel like it....as long as I post things so I can remember.

Just a little tip......

I was talking.....well, more like bragging a little on myself because no one else had noticed and I wanted someone to congratulate me.....don't judge!......to a friend the other day. I told her that I had lost 7 lbs since the first of the year. No, she didn't ask and no, the conversation wasn't even headed in that direction. Like I said, I was fishing for a compliment bragging on myself talking to a friend.

Me: I've lost 7 lbs since the beginning of the year.
Friend: I thought you looked like you had lost a little weight.

Now, here's my thoughts on this. If I think a friend has lost some weight (whether they have or not) I TELL THEM!! If they haven't, who cares? They look like they have and chances are wish they had.  Maybe it's just the outfit they are wearing. And hey! If an outfit makes me look skinnier, I'm gonna wear the heck out of that outfit! Once a week, baby!! Maybe twice!

And if they have?!?!? Well, what an ego boost. That hard work of dieting, exercise, whatever they are doing is hard! And you just noticed. What an encouragement you have just been to them.

And, yes I even tell my skinny, healthy friends this.

Was I upset at that friend who didn't say anything until I did? Nope. Did it make me smile when she did? Yep.

Now, go make someone smile. That's your homework for this week. :)

New Year...it's happening this year....

.....and I really mean that. Really. ReallyreallyreallyreallyREALLY mean it!!

"Yea, yeah, I've heard that before." I'm sure your saying that to yourself right now. But! Here's how you know it's actually reallyreallyreally happening....

1. I haven't had a Dr. Pepper since New Year's Day. I did have a cup of Diet Coke last night, though. So, one cup of coke in three days is a major deal around here.

2. I have drank about 65 ounces of water for three days straight. 3 DAYS STRAIGHT, YA'LL!! That's serious. I hate to drink water. It has no flavor and appeals to me absolutely not at all.

3. I have daily logged my calories and excercise in myfitnesspal. Even that day that I went over by 700+ calories. I logged it anyway.

4. Did you see that word up there? Exercise. Yep. I'm actually doing that thing now.

So, there you have it. 4 reasons why this is the year.

Simply Silent Saturday 10/19/13

Simply Silent Saturday is new! Simply a picture of something I crafted this week with no text/explanation. You may see a more detailed post later....you may not. And let's be honest. You probably won't. I mean, how many times have I said I was gonna go back and post pictures?

Okay, on to the Simply Silent Saturday part.......

It's Fall, Ya'll!!

I think Fall is my most favoritist time of the year. I say think because when winter comes around, I say that's my favorite. Same for Spring. Not so much summer. I don't like the hotness, sweatiness of it all. Although, I do like the not having to get up and go work of it all.

Take a moment and reread that up there if you need to. It's a mess, but it's the way my mind works so it stays. I reread it and it makes total sense....to me.

ANYWAY!

The point of this post is brag on myself a little. This post is being repinned daily on pinterest and that make me so happy! Validation! Wa-hooo!!!

Retreat to Complete - Day 3

Today has definitely not been as productive as yesterday, but it has definitely been fun. We decided to get out and make a trip to Hobby Lobby. You know, because, well, we needed to buy more stuff!! Don't judge.

I scored this awesome deal at HL. It was 50% off and I couldn't pass it up. 50% off, ya'll! 50%. I have been looking for a school album and this one was perfect (times 100 because incase I haven't mentioned it....it was 50% off ya'll).

I've already put a picture in the front, but I am going to change it because you can't see all the cute little faces.

The Boy's new scrapbook
Now, let's discuss The Food. Oh. My. Gracious!!! We have eaten so wonderfully this week. Today, we didn't even cook the scheduled lunch and dinner because we have so many leftovers from the last two days. I wish I had taken a picture of the leftover spread. It was UH-MAZING!!! Chicken enchiladas, a huge breakfast spread each day, and tons of snacks and chocolate. I have gorged myself on Dr. Peppers because after this week, I'm going cold turkey on them. Yea, it's gonna be rough but I have to do something. Please pray for The Husband and The Boy. I know I'm not gonna be pleasant the next few weeks....hopefully just days, but I'm trying to be realistic.

See you tomorrow.

Retreat to Complete - Day 2

My plan for these post was to include pictures of each day's pages/projects.

Yeah, not gonna happen. "Why not?" you ask.

Well, let me tell you. I can't get a good picture in here. Right now, of the eight people who are here, only three are still up working. The rest are in in bed. Considering it is now 11:30 that's probably a good idea, but shhh...don't tell them I said that. I just say they aren't as dedicated as me. :snicker, snicker: * And I don't want to start moving around this cabin trying to get good pictures and risk waking them.

So, I will give you a crappy picture that I am gonna call a sneak peek.

Ta-Da!!

It's the only picture I could get of The Boy before we left for school. It's a crappy picture (aka "Sneak peek") of a crappy picture. (How'd you like those play on words there?)

You can't see it very well in the picture, but beside the "First day of school" embellishment is a card that says "I love school". Well, that's wrong! so I x'd out the word love. I think it's the little things like that that make a scrapbook special.

The journal at the top says:
All I wanted was a 1st day of school picture. You wouldn't even look at me so I just snapped the only picture I could before we left. You crying because you didn't want to go.

My absolute favorite page that I finished is the one of him hiding behind a table at school. That picture will be coming soon.

*the little laugh...not the candy bar

Retreat to Complete - Day 1

Last night (a week ago - see previous post) I spent 2 hours packing. 2 hours! And that was just my supplies. Geez! It took me about 15 minutes to pack my clothes and personal stuff. 15 minutes. Is there something wrong with that?

My 7 bags of craft supplies

7 BAGS!!!!

Compared to my one personal bag (that kinds looks like a spotted frog's face) with a shoe to compare size.

Absolutely not! It's called being prepared to work on anything at any moment. It's called being crafty.
On the way to the retreat, we stopped at Scrapbook Village and did a little shopping. No worries, my craftastic friends, I stayed under my budget. The Hubs will be so proud.

Leaving SV, we still had another hour to hour and a half of driving time. It was such a beautiful drive up here and with good company, the time flew by!

Once we arrived, we unloaded which took forever!! Eight ladies who packed just like me (except with more for some of them)!! Seriously took us about 20-30 minutes to get everything unpacked.

Then ofcourse, we got right to work! *See below.* So far I have finished a mini - album for my Mom (shhh....it's a JBS {just because surprise}) and two pages of The Boy's 5th birthday.

Do you think we have enough stuff?

Hard at work on the other side of the room

For the rest of the night I plan on doing nothing! I'm just going to relax. My belly is full of yummy food (Oh my heck! I haven't even talked about the food that everyone brought! Another post, perhaps?) and my eyes are getting heavy.

And I get to do what I want for the next three days. This may be all I get finished. Then again, I may do about 20 more pages! Stay tuned!!

Animal Crackers - My new favorite thing

Nope. Not the delicious little cookies that I steal a few from when The Boy is eating them. It's a show (I think) on a BBC channel. I just discovered this gem on Pinterest and noticed there are many versions on youtube. Enjoy your new time waster!

Up. Down. My Body is Very Round

Up. That's what the number on the scales has done. Blerg. My wrist is tons better, but I have never gotten back to Zumba. Two month! Two months my wrist was an issue. It's been...oh, three months since I haven't worn a brace.

Excuse? No.

Reason? Lazy.

Maybe with me back to blogging, I'll get back to Zumba and back to using myfitnesspal.

A True Thank You - Oklahoma Tornado Relief Campaign

Recently, I signed up to be a Close to My Heart representative. For the discount. I don't actively try to make money with this business, but I love the discount. It's a great company and I am loving the products.

I knew I didn't want this to become a CTMH blog because I use many different products from many different companies. However, when I saw this on the website, I knew I had to share it with my crafty friends.

The stamp below is an early release from the Autumn/Winter 2013 catalog. From May 23rd to June 30th, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to aid tornado victims in Oklahoma. Again, that's 100% of the proceeds!! You can't beat that! To order the stamp, click here.

Do you see that up there?

Huh? Do you see what I see? It's RIGHT THERE! LOOK UP! (not your up, but the up on this page).

Yep! 7 lbs down.  I was hoping it would be a larger number by now, but I think with a sprained/broken/who knows/certainly not the doctors because they can't decide on what is going on with mywrist wrist, I have done pretty darn good. The wrist/thumb/like I said the doctor's can't decide issue has slowed me down in my exercising as in I haven't done any.

BUT! I am still losing weight and I am happy about that.

I'll take it.

New Post No Pictures

I went to a crop last week and used my time to make cards. I really wanted to do some pages, but didn't have time to print the pictures. I was, however, able to finish 12 cards!

I am really pretty proud of myself. The crop lasted from 9:00 to 5:00 and I thought 12 cards in that time was pretty good (for someone who hasn't been making cards for long).

I also spoke to a Close to My Heart representative and am actually thinking of becoming a consultant. I have a few more questions to get answered, but I am THISCLOSE to signing up.

Now, you are probably thinking where are the pictures of all these cards? Well, they would be stuck on my camera. For some reason my computer will no longer recognize my camera. The Husband has a picture that he needs off of the camera, and we can't get to it!! I do have a card reader around here somewhere, but I CAN'T FIND IT!!!

It.is.so.frustrating!

I saw that thing just the other day. JUST THE OTHER DAY! Where is it?

I'm sure you can tell by use of excessive punctuation and capital letters that I am not happy about the missing card reader. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!

So, as soon as I find the card reader, I will upload pictures of the cards I made.

Until next time.

(which may be 6 months from now)

Hello? Is it me your looking for?

  1. Yes, I was singing Lionel Richie when I typed that title.
  2.  New year....new weightloss goals
  3. My friend Sam posted #3 on facebook the other day and I told her I was stealing it. (No worries, she said it was fine).
  4.  Operation Lose 52 in 52.
  5.  Maybe I will change it to "52 in 52 weeks." I don't want to be a complete copy cat, do I?
  6.  I really want to lose 60 lbs, but will be happy with 52 by this time next year.
  7. I never remember if the period goes inside or outside of quotations marks at the end of the sentence (see #5).
Edited to add:

      8. I just noticed that the "#3" in #3 should be "#4."
      9. And there's that period and quotation marks issue again!

2nd Home

  1. This messy place has become my second home.
  2. It's never just the way I want it.
  3. I am always on my feet.
  4. It is usually filled with loud kids and people asking tons of questions.
  5. The books are always a mess.
  6. I am usually  doing one of the following: checking in and out books, answering emails, working on the webpage, creating documents, answering phone calls, creating lessons/materials etc, etc, etc.
  7. I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Sneak Peek

My camera is still out of commission, but I went ahead and snapped some pictures of my latest project with my phone. The pictures aren't the best, but I wanted to go ahead and post some pictures because I think this turned out so cute!!

"Happy 1st birthday"
"McGuyer"

There is no way to get the whole thing in one picture. I also made another banner for McGuyer's high chair. It says "I am 1" I forgot to get a picture of that. No worries, though. McGuyer's Mom said she would send me some pictures.

I just love those Mickey hands!! I also made a bigger "1st" Mickey head. I think it might look better, but we will see.

Cupcake toppers

I also cut out a bunch of Micky ears of different sizes and colors, but again....no picture. (That seems to be the theme of this post.)

What do you think?

Something That Bugs Me

I have the most amazing husband in the world. I very rarely complain about him (publicly, anyway) because I think it is my job as his wife to support him. Same goes for him. He supports me. I have never heard him complain about me to others, but then again I am not around him all day every day. I choose to think he doesn't.

However! (You knew that was coming, right?)
There is one little thing that has been on my mind. Nothing major, but in every instance this happens.

When I buy milk, I buy the red top (full fat!!!). I like it better for cooking and for The Boy. He needs all the fat he can get. Skinny little booger.

Sometimes The Husband does the grocery shopping for us. I will make a list and he will get the items while adding what he wants too. Everytime I put milk on the list, he buys the blue top! I even write "milk (red top)" and he will buy the blue top.

Everytime.

Always.

To infinity and beyond.

Now I know I shouldn't complain. I realize there are people out there with more serious husband issues. This is nothing and actually I am not complaining. I'm just sharing. :)

Big News!!

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for me. To make a long story short.....

I GOT A JOB!!!
(Imagine that text flashing, blinking, etc.)

After 5 years of being a stay at home mom, I have gone back to work!! I am the new media specialist at my local elementary school.

AND....

I have two posts that I am working on. I'm gonna finish some projects tomorrow (fingers crossed) and show off what I have done.  I can't wait to show you all. I actually squealed when I finished my superhero bulletin board. It is too cute!!!

So, in summary...
* I got a job.
* I have projects to post.
* You should check this blog again in the next few days.

Crafts for Mamaw

My Mom, aka Mamaw, was out of town last week so The Boy and The Nephew made posters for her.  I was told what to write and they did sticker choice and placement all on their own.

The Boy stuck with a simple I love you message, but The Nephew had to remind her of a little joke they played in her.  He's a prankster!

Since this picture, more stickers have been added.  The are still learning about.....okay, I have been sitting here and can't think of the word I am trying to say.....censoring?....I think that it is, but for some reason it doesn't seem right....
