The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for me. To make a long story short.....

I GOT A JOB!!!

After 5 years of being a stay at home mom, I have gone back to work!! I am the new media specialist at my local elementary school.

AND....

I have two posts that I am working on. I'm gonna finish some projects tomorrow (fingers crossed) and show off what I have done.  I can't wait to show you all. I actually squealed when I finished my superhero bulletin board. It is too cute!!!

So, in summary...
* I got a job.
* I have projects to post.
* You should check this blog again in the next few days.

Crafts for Mamaw

My Mom, aka Mamaw, was out of town last week so The Boy and The Nephew made posters for her.  I was told what to write and they did sticker choice and placement all on their own.

The Boy stuck with a simple I love you message, but The Nephew had to remind her of a little joke they played in her.  He's a prankster!

Since this picture, more stickers have been added.  The are still learning about.....okay, I have been sitting here and can't think of the word I am trying to say.....censoring?....I think that it is, but for some reason it doesn't seem right....

While The Boys Are Away....

....I will get 6 pages done!! Yes, I know it has been awhile. Okay, okay.....FOREVER!!! (Did you hear the little boy from Sandlot when you read that?) I was home alone and had just finished cleaning some on my Scrappin' Space and decided to make get some item finished on my long, long list.
And here's the epiphany I had while scrapping booking tonight.....Ready?!!?

Wait for it......

...and enjoy some pages while you wait.....

Getting ready for our ride!!
My style is simple. I never scrapbook anymore because everything I see online and in blogs is so detailed. While that is fine, I tend to get overwhelmed when I see that kind of stuff so I do nothing. I collect things. And collect and collect and collect.
Waiting for Thomas
I love all these different shots of Shane as he was seeing Thomas for the first time. The top left one is just too precious!!

I decided tonight that I am no longer a collector, but a scrapbooker.

BLERG!!! I uploaded these pictures with  my phone and deleted one. Now I can't get it back on here. There is one more adorable page and I can't show it to you. Eh, I'll try again tomorrow....maybe.

More Thomas pages coming soon......

Watermelon, Watermelon on the vine....

Ok, admit it. Who was singing the jump rope rhyme when you read the title?

I made this watermelon for a friend that needed it for a poster she was creating. It took me all of 10 minutes to complete and that was because the paper kept tearing. It should have taken me less.

Anywho!

I love how it turned out. I put a penny in the picture for scale. You can't tell in the picture, but the paper is sparkly and make the watermelon adorable. So cute!!

Productive Day

Not even 3:00 pm and I have already finished two loads of laundry (folded and put away!) and am working on #3 and cleaned out the 'fridge, freezer and pantry! Not sure where this burst of energy has came from, but I am going to take advantage of it.

Now, let's discuss me being fat. Yea, I still am, but I have lost weight recently and that's progress. I also had a friend invite me to begin WW again. She is getting a group at work started. So no more driving 30 minutes for a 30 minute meeting. We start this Wednesday.

Now, let's discuss me losing my mind. Last week, I posted on my personal blog and evidently changed my password for my account with that blog. I cannot get back in because I don't remember changing my password at all. It said I changed it 8 days ago which would be when I probably posted. I can't even view the stinkin' blog because I set it to private. I'm sure I changed the password, but I cannot remember what it is. When I go to password recovery, it sends an email to the other account I have linked to help. Here's the kicker. I lost the password to that account months ago and now I can't get into it either!

See? I've lost my mind!

Donation Station Labels

I'm sure you have heard of pinterest. Love it! One day last week, I came across this pin and decided to give it a go. I'm an not a very organized person. Well, if you call making-piles-of-things-in random-spots-around-the-house organizing, then yes. I am an organized person. I like to call my house organized chaos.

When I saw that day one was this (which I already do, just not as organizely <-----new word), I couldn't wait to make my area more eye pleasing and better.

Before I just had one big box in my closet where I would throw stuff that needed to be donated/returned to someone/somewhere or things I had bought as gifts when I found a good deal. Now, I have these!

Close up of the "Gifts" box.

I found the black crates in my garage. I went out there to look for something else and found these instead.

I used Elegant edges to cut the oval layers and Cricut Keystone and my markers to write the words. Love those markers and the center point button!!

Now, everyone knows that you take ideas you find on the internet and make them your own. Who says you have to follow the idea exactly? If I don't make it work for me, it WON'T WORK!

You may have noticed that I have one less box than what the link suggest. That's because we keep our library books in this bag so we didn't need the library bag.

So, what do you think? What new projects have you completed?

The latest......

As promised, I am finally posting some more crafts. It's been forever, but I didn't want to post any of these because they were Christmas presents.

And yes, I realize the liklihood of any of the people these were intended for was going to see them was very unlikely, but just my luck......

This last one is my absolute favorite because of that cute little dog!

Here is my mantle that I decorated this year. I love how it turned out, but I already have plans to improve it next year.
For some reason I did not get a picture where you can see the whole fireplace. So this first picture shows the bottom with the two nativities and the stockings that were never hung up. (Santa still filled them.)

Here you can see all the stuff I have on top.  We have a ton of stockings (Mine and The Husband's from when we were little, The Boy's first stocking, and our current stockings) that I was going to decorate with, but I ran out of time.

Oh, look! Right there on the left. That would be The Husband's Fireman of the Year Award!!

Close up of one of the stocking holders. I bought all of these after Christmas the last two years and don't think I paid over $3.00 for any of them.

If you know me, you know that I like things to be symmetrical, but the unevenness of the ornaments hanging is exactly what I wanted. I love the randomness of them. All in all, it took me about 5 minutes to put this together and it has been my favorite decor this season. Like I said, I have plans to improve it next year and can't wait to put it up again!!
